Certifications

Why we include certifications

We’re big fans of transparency and choice. And when it comes to certifications we thought long and hard about whether or not to include them.

Ultimately we think it’s really important for businesses who have worked hard for certification, or for whom certification is really important to be able to show them off (this can depend heavily on their products and services).

We also know many people actively look for certifications like FairTrade or Certified Organic when making a purchase. So we want to give you the option to find and support the businesses you align with.

Why we include businesses WITHOUT certification

We wholeheartedly believe there is a very important place for certifications in our supply chains.

We also believe that context is very important and some businesses can’t afford certification, some aren’t quite ready for certification (us included!*), some have business models that don’t fall neatly into a certification. And, in our experience, some businesses simply don’t want or need certification for a variety of reasons. But a lot of these businesses are still creating a huge impact to their cause.

If certification is important to you, you can use the certification filter in the ‘more filters’ function on the directory, so you’ll only see businesses that have your selected certification(s).

* Certifications are in our road map, once we have established Think Enough.
